Proactive stewardship of our non-motor portfolio

Following the success of the Power5 initiative, one of our greatest takeaways was the importance of intentional and proactive management of our loss ratios. With that in mind, we are proud to introduce Power4, a strategic initiative launched in FY25 to sharpen our focus on the non-motor portfolio. Historically, non-motor has been the stabiliser of the insurance industry, delivering consistently favourable loss ratios. However, the landscape has shifted.

Internal loss adjusting capability

We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of our internal loss adjusting capability, scheduled for September/October 2025.

While this journey is promising, it is also approached with caution due to concerns about unreliable workmanship or miscommunication. We anticipate that this project management tool will alter this narrative by fostering trust and transparency throughout the reinstatement process, ultimately leading to higher satisfaction and successful project completions.

Why this matters:

One of our key objectives is to reinstate more building repairs, shifting away from cash settlements where appropriate. This approach not only improves outcomes for clients but also strengthens our control over quality and cost.

Technology-driven transformation:

To support this evolution, we plan to pilot and integrate advanced web and mobile project management tools to enhance our ability to reinstate more building claims, which is a highly desirable outcome. This tool will streamline the building repair process and improve communication among service providers, brokers, and insured parties. In an industry where insured parties and brokers may sometimes suspect service providers of cutting corners, and service providers may find clients to be overly demanding, this tool aims to bridge these gaps with clarity and accountability.

Additionally, we’re exploring augmented reality (AR) solutions to accelerate and refine the assessment process.

The future:
As we prepare for launch, we’ll be sharing more details through our communications calendar and upcoming webinars. The initiative will be featured in future editions of the H-ello Claims newsletter under the Power4 banner. We look forward to working closely with our broker partners and Claims colleagues to ensure a smooth rollout and to deliver on our promise of helping clients navigate life’s uncertainties with confidence.
